Our Mission

Christ Church is a gospel-centered community that exists to glorify God and love Kerrville. Through this gospel we are united in Christ for the rest, renewal, and restoration of ourselves, our neighbors, and the world.

Gospel REST

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28

The gospel promises REST in Jesus. Our hope lies not in our own efforts, but in Jesus’ finished work. We desire to be a place where you can belong to the community before you believe. We offer a place of rest for the skeptical, the disillusioned, the cynical, the fearful, and the burned out to wrestle with the grace of God in Jesus. We seek to be a grace-giving community. Grace is not simply a theological proposition to which we adhere, but a reality that shapes our relationships and worship.

Gospel RENEWAL

“For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” - Romans 6:14

The gospel promises RENEWAL in Jesus. His death and resurrection, applied through the presence and work of the Holy Spirit, is the power to transform our lives and our community. We commit to being a faithful presence for the gospel in our community. We reject the idea of a secular-sacred dichotomy and work towards the renewal of our culture in all aspects. The gospel is aimed at the whole person. It is more than a suggestion of moral reform. It is the promise of healing and wholeness.

Gospel RESTORATION

“And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’” - Revelation 21:5

The gospel promises RESTORATION in Jesus. He is making all things new. He promised and secured resurrection. We rejoice that He will restore everything that sin and our rebellion has fractured in us and the world. We are committed to be instruments of reconciliation in the broken places in our world. The gospel compels us beyond the tolerance of those who are different than us and towards the beauty of kingdom diversity. We pray for and participate in the kingdom to come. God’s promise of a new heavens and a new earth is one of restoration, a process that begins now with our active engagement in the world.
