What We Believe

We are a church that stands on a gospel foundation.  Our entire identity and ministry is bound up in the good news of Jesus Christ, news tells us that "..For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (II Cor. 5:21)  It is by the conviction that the historic Christian gospel powerfully changes lives from the inside out–moving us from fear to freedom, from alienation to peace, and from cynicism to hope - that we long to see a growing, gospel-shaped community that exists for the glory of God, the good of our neighbors, and the joy of our city.

We are committed to gospel formation. Wherever the gospel thrives, a new kind of community emerges. We believe that the best way to bring God glory and bless Kerrville is by seeing a Kingdom community built within this particular community - a church of believers enjoying the benefits and blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, loving one another, and joyfully sharing the good news with our neighbors.

We are committed to gospel friendship.  We are committed to "sharing not only the gospel, but our lives as well." (I Thess. 2:8).  We seek to love this place and its people, proclaiming the gospel in Kerrville in ways that are accessible to its people in all of its uniqueness. To that end, we will constantly seek to remain faithful to the message of the gospel of grace, while at the same time being creatively flexible in its communication.

It is our privilege to serve among the community of Kerrville's gospel-preaching churches.  Our particular perspective and commitments are grounded in the Reformed, Presbyterian tradition.  For a comprehensive view of our doctrinal commitments, including a statement of faith, click here.
